Subjects:

Reading - reading approximately one story per week with a review test over the end of the story you just read. Then after the big unit, you will have a bigger test!! In reading we are learning how to use context clues to draw conclusions from stories we have read.

Math - We are reviewing old things such as: adding, subtracting, money and time. We will also be doing lots of activities in math.We will be skipping around chapter topics - just to let you know.

English - learning how to use punctuation, form sentences, and write paragraphs. We will also be learning about writing skills by working on different writing froms such as: narrative, descriptive, persuasive, and expository writing.

Spelling - Having a test mostly on Thursdays of the week!! For ahead notice, we will at least let you know a week before.

We also have an activity called the Marble Reward. This is a way that the class will be rewarded for their excellent classroom behavior. There is a marble jar in the class. The goal for the students is to gain all of the marbles. Once they have all the marbles gained in the jar, the class votes on what they want to do. The teacher will send a note letting you know what reward was voted on when the reward took place. These are some examples of the marble reward: snack and drink, movie day, game day, music day, etc.
