She has a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's Degree in Social Work.
Over the years, Ms. Jost has taught 5th grade through 8th grade, and she has found that she likes the challenge of the older students.
Ms. Jost teaches Language Arts to the 7th and 8th grade students.
In Literature, the students read many different types of chapter books and answer questions on what they have read. The students take an AR Test on each book, once they have finished it.
The students also go to the Library once a week to check out other books and are encouraged to take an AR Test on those books. In class they read Teen Newsweek once a week to learn about what is happening in the news.
In English the students are taught about the many parts of speech, and how to use them appropriately in sentences. They are also taught how to diagram sentences using the different parts of speech. The students also write many different types of papers using their creative writing skills.
