There are over 6,000 books in our library. We have the *Accelerated Reader (AR) Program available for the second through eighth grade, and we use the program to promote reading. We sponsor two (2) Scholastic Book Fairs each year which are a big hit.
Kindergarten through fifth grade have scheduled class time. They are taught many skills necessary to be able to use a library, are required to check out book(s), and are able to use this time to take AR tests.
Middle school has a scheduled time to check out book(s), take an AR test or use the available research materials.
The library has an open policy which allows students to visit during unscheduled class time.
*The AR program encourages students to read books and take a computer generated test. Points earned for passing tests are used at the end of the year to purchase prizes.
